Camera Bag and Video Tripod

Whether you're a hobbyist photographer, a professional, or just someone who enjoys photography on occasion on nights out or when on holiday, getting a new camera is a highly exciting time and allows you to start to capture your life's events and the artistic things you spot in the world in a whole new way - in more definition, with greater color and with more ease. Maybe you have features like rapid fire that will let you capture people in motion performing your favorite sports, or maybe you have a new night mode that allows you to take pictures of nights out, or maybe you have a video camera for the first time - it's all very exciting.
However it's also very easy to break a new camera, and if you don't want this excitement to be short lived then it's very important to look at how you can go about avoiding damaging a new camera. There are a few ways you can achieve this, and we will look at some of them here.
Camera Bag
First of all you should make sure you have a camera bag. A camera bag is just a bag that fits around your camera, but it's a very important purchase. This will first of all allow you to carry the camera in a protective bag, which means that should it bump into something or get dropped it won't shatter, chip or scratch. Even if you are keeping your camera inside another bag then this is important. If ever you've had a bag filled with a mixture of things you've probably had moments where you forget what's in there and drop it down carelessly, or had moments where you accidentally stepped on it or sat on it - and if you don't have a protective camera bag you might damage it.
Camera bags also come with a strap often to help you carry the camera, and this prevents you needing to carry it lose when you want it to hand thereby avoiding your dropping it. If you carry a camera bag instead of a lose camera you can also disguise the camera rather than flash it about and this can help you to avoid theft.
Tripod
A tripod is a highly useful tool for keeping your camera safe, and actually for improving the quality of your shots. If you want to take a photo of something at night for instance, then you will need to keep the camera very still to avoid motion blur occurring as a result of the increased light sensitivity and a tripod is a great way to do that. However more importantly, when you are taking photos of yourself on timer, a tripod prevents the camera from falling over, or off of whatever you stood it on. If you've ever been on holiday with friends you've probably tried to get group shots of you all in front of things and to do that you've probably stood your camera on a bench and walked away with it on timer. This is good and well, except it is more likely to topple - whereas by using a tripod you can keep it upright and prevent it from getting damaged.
Cameras can be quite expensive and costly to repair or replace. By keeping your camera in a Video Tripod or Camera Bag, it will protect it from damage. Camera Bag and Backpacks can be fairly cheap too.
